4. Where do I get my teachers’ reserve items?
Get your reserve items either at the circulation desk on the first floor or some professors may have posted items on the electronic reserves website ERes.

5. How can I get a job in the library?
Available student positions will be posted in the Greenwood Student Center by the bookstore entrance. All jobs are listed with a contact name and location.  It is advised you call before coming to the library to see if your contact person is available.  They will have an employment application for you to fill out. Jobs are also posted at the student employment page.
Jobs at the library come in three flavors:

Work Study Positions
Not all student can apply for work-study positions. You must have been awarded work-study and have received a referral card from the financial aid office. This card will be required when you apply for work-study positions.

Work to Learn Positions
To apply for a work-to-learn position in the library you are required to be working toward a degree in a related field.

Hourly Positions
Hourly positions are open to any qualified individual. More positions may become available after school begins. Check back often.

6. I have a library hold on my record, how do I get it removed?
"Holds" may be placed on student registration records if fines or fees are left unpaid. This may prohibit students from registering or receiving transcripts. Paying fines at the library or at the cashier’s window in the Greenwood Student Center will remove the hold place on student records. Library borrowing privileges will be suspended for community patrons with fines. Patrons will be sent reminder notices on overdue books. However, failure to receive any notices will not be accepted as grounds to remove overdue fines.

7. Can I suggest a book or item for purchase?
Yes! We take suggestions for purchase of library materials. Use the Purchase Request form to suggest items.

8. How do I find a book?
Use the library catalog to locate books and other library materials.

9. How do I get a book from another library?
Books may be requested from other libraries by filling out an interlibrary loan form from the web or at the circulation desk.

10. How do I renew my books?
All materials are renewed for the same length of time as the original loan period. There are unlimited* renewal privileges. Renewals may be requested by phone (283-7363), the library catalog, or in person. If renewals are made over the phone, it is a good idea to wait on the line until the process is complete.
*An item will not be renewed if another person has placed a “hold” or “request” on the item.

11. The catalog shows the book as “checked in” but it’s not on the shelf, what do I do?
Ask at the circulation desk for assistance. They will usually be able to help locate the item you are looking for.

12. How do get wireless access in the library?
Bring your wireless device to the library and visit with Scott Pratt (office #110). He will assist with setting up your wireless device to work in the rest of the library.

13. Where can I find scholarly journal articles?
A great place to start is to use EBSCOhost and search using Academic Search Premier. This database covers a variety of academic topics and search results can be limited to scholarly / professional articles.

14. Does the library have a scanner?
Yes. It’s found on the first floor near the copy machines.
